Some of the faces from the Mossvale Festival 2012.

The festival Nestled into the gently rolling hills of South Gippsland is an idyllic secreted park, home to gargantuan aged trees and open lawn spaces. Every autumn this tranquil sheltered locale draws people of all ages, from all directions & all walks of life to bask in a glorious day of exceptional music.

I was lucky enough to be asked by Festival director Ian Bevington to come along and take photos on the day. My ears where treated to some incredible Music from the Likes of The Dirty Three, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, The Bamboos, Eric Bibb With Stefan Astner, Ben Sollee, Sal Kimber & The Rollin Wheel, Liz Stringer & Van Walker, Krystle Warren and Ahab.

Jut and Pip - March 11th , 2012

This wedding was so incredibly beautiful, held in a stunning little B&B tucked away in Healesville, Victoria.

The ceremony was held under an ancient oak tree while the resident horses and donkey looked over the proceedings and ended with Jut’s father John, and two brothers Sean and Bernie singing ‘Thats how strong my love is’ by Otis Redding.

We all then made our way into an incredibly decorated Marquee and nibbled little parcels of Fresh ravioli, mini burgers and sticky date pudding while the reggae band kept everyone swaying along into the night.

Congratulations to two very amazing people, I am so happy that you found each other and I wish nothing but the best of life for the both of You. xx

My very talented husband makes beautiful music.

“…The lights go down in the parlour, the blinds go down like eyelids.  It’s the dark end of sundown strip, I’m hoping you’re home. It’s cold out here at the foot of your fire escape. I’m restless you know, the way you were too, before you managed to tame it. Remember the train platform in the snow? The slow coal train carriages we’d shoot with hands like pistols. When the crows would perch on the power lines it was like the world was black and white.”

(if you cant see the soundcloud player try this)

After falling in love with an old  Kay parlour guitar from the 1930’s in Venice, CA.  and returning home with a swag of new songs,  Sean McMahon’s Western Union began a relentless schedule of dates in Melbourne bars.  Eight or nine months later, with the help of Jeff Lang, they recorded  ‘Live at the Last Hotel’, an intimate collection of ten songs, all recorded live in one day, with minimal overdubbing to 8 track tape.

Western Union are Sean Nicholas McMahon, Tim Murphy (double bass) and Alison Ferrier (violin and harmonies)

The last Sunday in summer was spent down by the river.

A couple of location shots from the shoot I did this week with the Jed Rowe Band in the Dandenong ranges. Right after this second photo was taken I realised I had leeches crawling up my legs…Band shots coming soon.

I was flattered when recently the lads from The Bitter Sweethearts contacted me and asked if they might use one of my images for the cover of their new EP.
